Undergraduate Research Opportunities for Schreiner Students

Motivated undergraduates at Schreiner are always welcome to join me for independent research projects, either my own or something that the student can design. My approach is typically that after some initial training and planning meetings, the student should be prepared to work on their own. This means an ideal student is highly interested in the topic and can manage time and establish priorities. You can do research for course credit (progress towards degree completion) and  sometimes when funding is available you can get paid or financial aid. In most cases it's best to start by simply volunteering. Contact me if interested!

Collaboration Opportunities

I am open to a variety of collaborations with researchers from other universities or organizations around the planet. It would be easiest for me to collaborate with others working on Odonata or other aquatic insects in the context of phylogenetics, phylogeography, sexual selection, morphology, and general evolutionary questions. Further, my recent work on tick ecology and control is of great interest and momentum currently. My position allows excellent opportunities for all kinds of science education research, and I'm happy to get more involved in that kind of work. Just reach out for ideas or requests!
